ALDER HOUSE

Located in a scenic neighbourhood on the eastern side of campus, the University of Alberta’s Alder House residence provides on-campus residence housing in a co-ed community. Residents are able to foster relationships with other students and access knowledgeable upper-year students, all while living minutes from campus.

Alder House offers modern, fully furnished rooms, a community kitchen and living space where you will spend time with your neighbours. You won’t have to worry about purchasing or moving heavy furniture and our term leases give you peace of mind about your home in residence.

Alder House provides on-campus residence housing in a co-ed community. Residents are able to foster relationships with students in a variety of years of study, share a living environment in a smaller community, all minutes from campus.

WHO LIVES HERE: Upper-year undergraduate students.

UNIT TYPES: Private, furnished, single bedrooms with shared washrooms, communal kitchen and living space.

LEASE TYPE: Annual term lease ending on July 31 of each year (the first lease is 11 months in length and renewals are 12 months).

Single Room $956 /month. 11 month term lease

*Wireless internet, heat, water and power are included in the rent.

Please note, all rates are subject to change, including meal plan values. All published rates reflect current values, and any approved changes are posted immediately. In the event of a discrepancy between the official rates and the rates published, the official rates shall prevail.

Alder House is located in the East Campus neighbourhood of North Campus, at 11011-90 Avenue.

Eastern Ascent is Residence Services upper-year student Orientation program specifically designed for students living in our East Campus residences and runs from August 28 to September 9, 2017.

Eastern Ascent provides residents with the opportunity to develop peer connections and become better oriented to the Edmonton community and UAlberta campus prior to the start of Fall Term Classes.

Eastern Ascent features events to help give you an academic advantage through workshops on time management, applying for research funding and using campus libraries, as well as programs designed to encourage students to connect with their residence community, such as puppy playtime, bonfires in the park and a Day of Service.

Units are fully furnished with a Twin XL bed, dresser and study desk with chair in each bedroom. Common areas are furnished. You will have to bring your own cooking equipment, linens, etc.
