The UAlberta Residence experience is expanding.

Extraordinary new residence construction projects are already underway at North Campus, supporting the overarching goal of providing well-designed, warm and inviting on-campus housing to twenty-five per cent of the UAlberta student body. These residence projects, two in East Campus as well as an additional residence tower in the Lister Centre complex, will extend the capacity for students to find their place at UAlberta, and connect on a deeper level with their peer community.

Expected to be completed in the Spring of 2017, the Peter Lougheed Hall residence will include 143 beds in one and two-bedroom configurations. Common areas will include a large inspirational space with video conferencing capabilities for social gatherings, lectures and seminars. Also included are outdoor amenity spaces, a conference room, a large and flexible dining hall, as well as fitness and recreation rooms.
Residence applications to live in PLH for Fall 2017 are open now!

The final large residence construction project in East Campus is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2018. Home to approximately 300 upper-year (years 2 through graduation) spaces, this new residence will feature four and six-bedroom configurations and will comprise many of the same features and community elements that UAlberta residents already enjoy as well as many innovative additions.

The Lister Residence experience is expanding in support of the university objective of providing guaranteed housing to all first-year students. In addition to Lister Residences’ approximately 1850 existing spaces, the fifth residence building will accommodate 520 beds and will include many innovative design features. Upon completion in Fall 2018, this fifth tower will advance the goal of connecting residents through inviting and interactive architectural elements, creating greater access to resources, student support services and warm social spaces.

UAlberta is counting down the days to the completion of these innovative living spaces, and there’s no doubt that any student will be able to find their fit, and experience what residency at UAlberta has to offer!
